New Student Must-Eats

Food warms the soul. Especially in Murray.

Living in a new town can seem a bit overwhelming, but here are some great hangouts and places to find food that are favorited by the university students. Check out the Top 5 Eats to the right, or dive into the listing below.

The perfect place for study groups is Murray Donuts. Freshly made daily, Murray Donuts has a luscious variety of donuts to choose from, but and the entire second floor is set up with small tables and chairs, creating the perfect studying environment. Need to grab a quick bite in between classes? Pop into Matt B’s Main Street Pizza and always get the breadstick and honey butter.

A local eat close to campus is Burrito Shack. B-shack, as it is known around town, has become a local and student favorite over the past ten years. The Caribbean-style menu offers many options for vegetarians and the homemade pineapple salsa is instantly addictive.

Next door is Tap 216, the local campus bar. On Tuesdays, enjoy Trivia Night. On the weekends, check out the live music or enjoy the covered patio.

For a long afternoon break, drive downtown to Shaffer Coffee Co. Another great location for studying or group meetings, Shaffer has long tables, ample lighting and a fantastic selection of gourmet coffees and teas. Try the cinnamon honey latte – it is delicious!
