Gospel Explosion

The Gospel Explosion returns to Freedom Fest this year on Sunday, July 6th. The 2008 Line-up is coming soon!

Freedom Fest 2007 Gospel Explosion made for a moving evening of praise and worship with two traditional southern gospel groups. Echoes from Calvary is a trio that was founded with the purpose of “spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song.” The three members, David McGan, Sharon Thomas, and Twila Staton, hope to touch people’s hearts with their close-harmony southern Gospel, a ministry they consider a gift from God.

The headlining act was The Smith Family Trio, who formed over 20 years ago. The group consists of Phil Smith, his wife Teresa, and Phil’s son Jeremy. The Smith Family Trio has performed on TCT, the Jimmy Snow Show, and has performed on other networks as guests of the Victory Network. The Smith’s also sang in one of the showcases at the National Quartet Convention after signing with New City Talent in March of 2006. The trios unique blend of family harmony touches people and made this year’s Gospel Explosion and exciting event
